Visionaire Studio 4.0 (Cross-platform release) Demo Competition
A'llo all, we have decided to create a competition to celebrate the upcoming cross-platform release of Visionaire Studio. Unlike the previous competition, there will be no physical prizes. Instead the winners game will become the official demo game that comes packaged with the Visionaire Studio installation files. I think this is an apt prize all of its own as it gets your name, your team or companies name out there along with an example of your work at play. I can not guarantee any physical prizes, well not unless anyone; company or individual would like to sponsor this competition.
Anyway, without further ado, here are the competition rules & guidelines.
- Game must be in Third person
- Must have a minimum resolution of 1024x768 or higher
- Primary language should be in English to cater worldwide
- Must contain at least 3 completed scenes/rooms
- Must contain at least 1 fully animated playable character
- Must contain at least 1 interactive npc character
- Must contain a command & inventory interface
- Must contain a fully working menu: new/resume/quit game & a save/load menu
We would also appreciate it if you wouldn't mind adding examples of dialogs, actions, commands & inventory/item usage etc as well as an example of a working Lua script in your game & if possible at least 1 in game puzzle; these of course are all optional, but would be greatly appreciated.
As for the game itself: you can feel free to use whatever art style you like such as pixel-art, 3D, vector, hand-painted, claymation, paper/card etc & come up with your own unique story or even create a sort of interactive tutorial on how Visionaire Studio works; as long it looks good & plays well, then we say A-OK ;)
Second & third place games will get their games linked on the Visionaire Studio download page. Although first person games are not allowed to enter the competition to get the chance to become the official Visionaire Studio demo game, they could, however, still stand a chance of winning one of the runner up placements. We will not accept any hidden object based games whatsoever!
Competition dates, deadlines & additional information will be provided at a later date, providing enough people show interest.
